Trip to Alexandrov

As part of a summer corporate event in 2009, MILLAB employees left the Moscow office and took off on a trip to a tourism center of Russia — Alexandrov.

Alexandrov became a city back in 1779. Before that, it had been called Alexandrovskaya Sloboda (Alexandrov settlement) that had grown out of a small court village. During the reign of Ivan the Terrible, Alexandrovskaya Sloboda became the center of the Russian state.

Our journey began with the oldest country residence of Russian czars — an open-air museum in the territory of the Alexandrov Kremlin. In the museum, we had a chance not only to get acquainted with the history by going on a tour, but also submerge into it by acting a generic match-making scene — A Boyar Chooses a Wife. We also visited the churches of the Alexandrov Kremlin: Protection Church, Trinity Cathedral, Dormition Church.

We spent the rest of the day outdoors — played games, participated in contests, shared impressions.
